Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacon) trip - Year 9
On the 13th November we went away to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. It was one of the best weeks we’ve had in a while. We started the first day there with a walk to get to know the area and them got introduced to the lovely staff in the evening. A few hours after we got there it started to get dark. We had our dinner which was very filling and you could have as many courses as you wanted. Then we went out for our night-time activity.
A lot of the activities we did were very independent and did some with just the kids which gave us some freedom. We did lots of different things which included: gorge walking, caving, orienteering, canoeing, climbing and other outdoor activities. We both really enjoyed this trip because it was a nice atmosphere to spend more time outside and gave us a chance to get to know new people.
Our favourite part was both the community areas where we played games and had a laugh with our mates and the caving. Although it sounds scary it took us out of our comfort zone and we’re glad we did it as it made us feel accomplished as it wasn’t something we’d usually do. Lots of fun memories were made; ones we won’t forget. We would definitely recommend this trip!!
