Lest We Forget
South Charnwood High School, pupils and staff, attended a remembrance assembly today in honour of those who volunteered, sacrificed, served, fought, and died, for our freedom.
We remembered the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth and listened to the names of all of the fallen from the first world war who lived within a 2-mile radius of school. The service was presented to us faultlessly by Ruby Ballard and Arthur Haughan. The one-minute silence was impeccably observed and ended with the last post played by our cover supervisor, Mr Reason.
Thank you to Mr Stephenson and Mr Haughan for organising such a poignant event.
